On November 5, 2017 at around 10 am, the body of Melquan Hicks-Bey was located in a wooded area off of Rockhill Road suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. It was learned that at around 3 am on this same date, Melquan Hicks-Bey was abducted during an armed robbery at a home located at 1516 S 12th Street in Wilmington. Melquan Hicks-Bey was 22 years old at the time of his death and left behind 2 children.
